Urges the Department of Public Safety to work with the Federal Detention Center in Honolulu to restore the inmate workline program at the facility.

Recognizes that inmate workline programs provide job training in skills such as landscaping, motor vehicle repair, heavy equipment operation, and construction, helping inmates transition back into society.

Notes that inmate worklines enable community service projects and can result in substantial cost savings for the state while reducing recidivism.

Acknowledges that the workline at the Federal Detention Center was suspended due to problems caused by certain inmates, though innocent inmates also lost the opportunity.

Requires certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Director of Public Safety and the Director of the Federal Detention Center in Honolulu.
