Request Department of Education to report on feasibility of transferring public schools located on military bases in Hawaii to the Department of Defense Education Activity.

Department of Education must submit findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than 20 days before the 2011 Regular Session convenes.

Resolution notes approximately 15,000 students (8% of Hawaii's student population) are children of military families currently enrolled in Hawaii public schools.

Identifies that federal Impact Aid received by Department of Education is insufficient to cover costs of educating military-connected students, and potential income tax changes may further reduce available education funding.

Directs transmission of certified copies to Hawaii's congressional delegation, the Governor, Board of Education leadership, and the Commander of United States Pacific Command.
