Requests the Department of Land and Natural Resources to conduct a study of state land assets and natural resources to determine their current utilization and potential for revenue generation.

Study must include an inventory of state land assets and natural resources, projections of real maintenance costs, and recommendations for allocating operating and capital funds to sustain these resources.

Recommendations should address using government assets to support land and natural resource management, and requiring private developers or businesses benefiting from public natural or cultural resources to contribute financially to maintenance costs.

Department is requested to consult with government leaders, state and county officials, community leaders, nonprofit organizations, and business executives during the study process.

Final report with recommendations, including any proposed legislation, is due no later than twenty days prior to the 2011 Regular Legislative Session.
