Urges the Department of Human Services to provide information to its workers and contracted agencies regarding discrimination based on gender, sexual preference, gender identity, or disability.

Cites rising hate crimes against gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered persons, which represent approximately 14 percent of all hate crimes reported to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and constitute the third-highest category of hate crimes.

Emphasizes that discrimination based on actual or perceived gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability is unacceptable in Department of Human Services operations and contracted services.

Requires certified copies of the resolution be sent to legislative leadership, the Governor, the Department of Human Services Director, and representatives from various LGBTQ and social work organizations.
