H.C.R. NO. 91 Summary

• Urges the Department of Land and Natural Resources to assist the Koloa Community's Hapa Trail Volunteers in restoring and maintaining the Hapa Trail, an historic property (site number 50-30-10-992) that was the historic roadway connecting Koloa to Hanakaape Bay in 19th century Hawaii.

• Authorizes DLNR's State Historic Preservation Division to review and approve the volunteers' plans to restore and rebuild missing sections of the rock walls that line over one mile of the trail.

• Requests that DLNR grant permission and approval for right of entry to the Hapa Trail to address liability concerns for volunteers working on the restoration project.

• Directs certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources, the State Historic Preservation Division Administrator (Kauai Office), and the Koloa Community's Hapa Trail Volunteers.
