Request the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism to provide information to the Legislature on cell towers in Hawaii, including applicable federal, state, and county laws, rules, and regulations governing their location, construction, and operation.

Require the department to provide information on the types of services provided by cell towers and the area of service that each tower provides.

Department must submit findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the Regular Session of 2011.

Resolution acknowledges that while cell towers are necessary to expand wireless coverage in remote areas and accommodate Hawaii's mountainous terrain, residents have concerns regarding tower location in residential neighborhoods, visual impacts, and potential health hazards from microwave transmissions.
