Honors Ann Marie Nalani Kirk for her outstanding service in safeguarding Hawaii's natural and cultural resources, educating Hawaii's youth, and perpetuating Native Hawaiian oral traditions and history.

Recognizes Kirk's grassroots efforts to protect the heiaus Hawea and Pahua in Hawaii Kai, Oahu and her work to create statewide awareness about banning shark tours for public safety and cultural respect.

Acknowledges Kirk's creation of maunalua.net in 2008 as a repository of oral histories from East Oahu's Maunalua Bay residents, preserving the area's rich cultural heritage.

Recognizes Kirk's over 15 years of work as a producer and director for the Hawaii State Department of Education's Teleschool Branch, creating educational programs including "Choices," "Stories to Tell," "Voices and Wings," and "Pacific Clues."
