• Requests the Department of Land and Natural Resources to conduct a comprehensive study of state land assets and natural resources, including their current utilization and revenue generation potential.

• Study must include an inventory of state land assets, projections of real maintenance costs, and recommendations for allocating operating and capital funds to sustain these resources.

• Directs study to evaluate ways government assets can support land and natural resources management, and require private developers and businesses benefiting from public natural resources to contribute financially to their maintenance costs.

• Requires consultation with government leaders, state and county agency heads, community leaders, nonprofit organizations, and business executives during the study process.

• Department must submit findings and legislative recommendations no later than 20 days prior to the 2011 Regular Session.
