Request that the University of Hawaii consider concerns and issues regarding the autonomy of the School of Travel Industry Management (TIM).

Acknowledge that TIM has operated autonomously since 1991 after obtaining separate accreditation and separating from the business college.

Note that a 2009 UH-Manoa Chancellor's Advisory Committee recommendation proposed reconsolidating TIM with the Shidler College of Business, generating opposition from alumni, students, and faculty.

Request that the University of Hawaii establish a forum to receive public input and resolve the issue at the university level rather than through legislative action.

Direct certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the President of the University of Hawaii System, Chancellor of UH-Manoa, Board of Regents Chairperson, and TIM Dean.
