Each county is requested to establish an illegal fireworks hotline program through county ordinance to report violations of Section 132D-5 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes.

Counties must make available a confidential hotline for accepting calls reporting illegal fireworks use, with callers able to report anonymously or non-anonymously.

An illegal fireworks hotline shall be established within the state fire council for administrative purposes to address importation of illegal fireworks.

Anonymous reports submitted to county hotlines are to be transmitted to the police department of the county where the informant resides.

Each county is requested to assign one representative to investigate fireworks use violations.
