H.R. 162 - Military Rest and Recuperation

• Encourages all branches of the United States military to establish and promote Hawaii as a premier rest and recreation destination for active-duty personnel.

• Requests that military services send active-duty personnel returning from combat tours to spend a week in Hawaii to decompress and mitigate combat-related stress.

• Requests consideration of establishing Hawaii as a medical center specializing in suicide prevention and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder for military personnel.

• Directs transmission of certified copies of the resolution to the Governor, Hawaii's congressional delegation, the Secretary of Defense, military service secretaries, and the Commander of the United States Pacific Command.
