Requests the Department of Education to establish a task force to research and report on the feasibility of providing Wi-Fi internet access on school buses on routes where one-way commutes exceed thirty minutes.

Task force must include representatives from the Department of Education's Office of Information Technology Services, Student Transportation Services Branch, school bus service companies operating in remote areas, parents from remote areas, and teachers with students from those areas.

Task force report must include estimates of costs for Wi-Fi equipment, installation, service, and identify potential revenue sources.

Department of Education must submit the task force's findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the House no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the Regular Session of 2011.

Addresses Hawaii public school students in remote areas who commute up to fifty-six hours monthly by bus, proposing Wi-Fi access to turn travel time into productive learning time for homework and project research.
