Requests the University of Hawaii Board of Regents submit a report to the Legislature on observation viewing time on Mauna Kea telescopes and other state benefits provided to foreign and out-of-state entities.

Aims to ensure continued protection and maintenance of Mauna Kea lands by entities that benefit from taxpayer support for telescope operations.

Received support from the University of Hawaii, the Representative of the 4th Representative District, and Life of the Land.

Received conditional support with amendments from the Royal Order of Kamehameha I, Na Koa Ikaika o Ka Lahui Hawai'i, Sierra Club-Hawaii Chapter, Mauna Kea Anaina Hou, Kahea, and concerned individuals.

Committee on Legislative Management concurs with the intent and purpose of the resolution and recommends adoption.
