Requests Kamehameha Schools/Bishop Estate to maintain Kamilo Nui Valley in agricultural use in perpetuity to preserve its role in watershed protection, flood prevention, and water quality.

Encourages the landowner to exercise fairness and discretion in adjusting lease rents in July 2010 based on affordable rates for current farmers.

Notes that farmers have held leases since the 1970s with terms running until 2025 under agricultural-use conditions, and are facing rent readjustment in 2010.

Recognizes that Kamilo Nui Valley is the last large undeveloped parcel in East Honolulu with over 500 residents petitioning against changes to the urban/agricultural boundary.

Directs certified copies be sent to the Kamilo Nui Valley Farmers Cooperative, Kamehameha Schools/Bishop Estate, Honolulu City Council, Hawaii Kai Neighborhood Board, and Livable Hawaii Kai Hui.
