Recognizes and commends the Sustainable UH program and Help Us Bridge (HUB) team for their work on sustainable energy initiatives at the University of Hawaii.

Sustainable Saunders project reduced Saunders Hall's energy use by 24 percent through waste audits, de-lamping, low flow plumbing fixtures, recycled materials, and renewable energy generators, saving $149,000 annually.

Sustainable UH initiatives include campus workshops, Earth Day celebrations, Sustainability 101 curriculum, and a Student Sustainability Internship Program conducting waste and energy audits for federal and private clients.

Program aims to extend successful Saunders Hall model across the entire University of Hawaii System to create $150,000 in energy savings at campuses statewide during the 2009-2010 academic year.

Directs transmission of certified resolution copies to the Director of Sustainable UH, Director of Help Us Bridge team, and President of the University of Hawaii System.
