Hawaii Permanente Medical Group was established in 1960 as an independent professional physician corporation to provide medical care to Henry J. Kaiser's Health Plan members in Hawaii on a prepaid basis.

The organization has grown to over 430 highly-trained physicians serving over 225,000 Kaiser Permanente members and is the largest medical group practice in Hawaii.

Physicians have contributed to the community through volunteerism, medical missions, clinical research studies, and evidence-based medicine practices that have advanced medical knowledge and care delivery.

The group delivers comprehensive, prepaid, coordinated physician care supported by advanced data and information systems focused on patient safety, quality, and affordability.

The House of Representatives commends the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group for fifty years of outstanding medical service to the people of Hawaii and extends best wishes for future success.
