SB 1290 Summary

• Provides fund authorizations and appropriations for collective bargaining cost items for Unit 10 employees and their excluded counterparts for fiscal biennium 2009-2011.

• Allocates funds through multiple state budget programs including program planning, analysis, and budgeting (BUF 101), administrative director services (JUD 201), and Hawaii employer-union trust fund (BUF 143).

• Covers salary adjustments and cost adjustments negotiated between the State and the exclusive bargaining representative of collective bargaining unit 10.

• Extends equivalent salary increases and cost adjustments to state officers and employees excluded from collective bargaining under chapter 89C, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

• All unspent or unencumbered funds lapse on June 30, 2010, and June 30, 2011, with the Act taking effect July 1, 2009.
