• Requires persons engaged in purchasing, selling, or installing airbags to maintain detailed records for at least five years, including supplier information, vehicle identification numbers, and airbag identification numbers, subject to inspection by law enforcement.

• Mandates that airbag installers submit an affidavit or repair invoice with the installed airbag's parts number to vehicle owners confirming proper installation.

• Prohibits installation of salvaged airbags and makes it unlawful to knowingly possess, sell, or install stolen airbags or airbags with removed or altered manufacturer labeling.

• Requires police accident reports to note whether an airbag deployed and mandates written disclosure by vehicle sellers or traders when an airbag is inoperable.
