Permits a judge or justice to serve as Administrative Director of the Courts for no more than a two-year period, after which they must serve out the remainder of their judicial term.

Allows an administrative director who is a judge or justice to retain the salary and benefits of their judicial position rather than receiving the standard administrative director salary.

Removes the requirement that the administrative director's salary be reviewed and recommended by the commission on salaries every six years, effective July 1, 2007.

Maintains existing requirements that the administrative director be a state resident for three years prior to appointment and be appointed by the chief justice with supreme court approval.

Takes effect July 1, 2099.
