Exempts renewable energy systems producing at least 2 megawatts of electrical power or 500,000 gallons of liquid fuels from the general excise tax from January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2015.

Exemption applies to gross proceeds from the sale, installation, servicing, and leasing of qualifying renewable energy systems.

Excludes from the exemption any gross proceeds associated with preparation of plans, designs, or permitting for the renewable energy system.

Defines "renewable energy system" by reference to sources of renewable energy as defined in section 269-91 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes.
