Eliminates the requirement for the Department of Social Services to issue a ten-day pending notice allowing applicants to submit additional medical evidence when an initial disability determination is made that they do not qualify for general assistance.

Removes the provision referring denied applicants to free legal services and the ability to request time extensions during the disability determination process.

Renumbers existing subparagraphs in Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 346-71(b)(3) following the deletion, with former subparagraph (D) becoming (C) and former subparagraph (E) becoming (D).

Maintains all other general assistance eligibility requirements for persons aged 18-65 with disabilities, including the need to pursue appropriate medical treatment and annual reevaluations.

Takes effect on July 1, 2010.
