Authorizes the Department of Human Services to issue a lump-sum death benefit equal to the Social Security Administration's annual Lump-Sum Death Benefit for deceased medical or financial assistance recipients who are ineligible for the federal Social Security benefit.

Increases the maximum payment for mortuary and crematory services for unclaimed corpses from $400 to $800 total per corpse.

Removes provisions requiring the department to pay for cemetery services and allowing relatives to make their own burial arrangements.

Requires applications for the lump-sum death benefit to be submitted within 60 days of the decedent's death.

Maintains protections against liability for the Department of Human Services and other parties complying with this section.
