• Provides incentives for building owners and managers to maintain newer equipment with fail-safe technology in safe operating condition by allowing longer intervals between inspections and reducing inspection costs.

• Clarifies that the department may obtain relevant records and documents from employers, owners, operators, and employees during investigation, enforcement, and inspection activities, in addition to questioning authority.

• Makes housekeeping amendments including spelling corrections and clarification of enforcement authority regarding imminent hazards and injunction procedures.
