Office of Hawaiian Affairs requested to develop a plan for implementing replicas of Hawaiian hale (traditional houses) on the State Capitol lawn, with assistance from Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum and interested Hawaiian cultural organizations.

Proposed hale structures to be surrounded by appropriate tropical foliage and designed to serve as rest and gathering areas for Capitol visitors and residents.

Plan submission required twenty days prior to the 2011 regular legislative session.

Certified copies to be transmitted to the Board of Trustees of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Board of Directors of Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, and the State Historic Preservation Officer.
