Request that the Hawaii Public Housing Authority amend its rules to allow occupants facing eviction from state-funded homeless shelters to remain in the shelter while appealing their eviction.

Require the Authority to provide occupants with ten days from the date of an eviction notice to request continued residency during the appeals process.

Allow exceptions to continued residency for occupants who pose a threat to safety, owe undisputed past-due program fees, or admit to three or more house rule violations.

Recognize that U.S. Constitutional Due Process protections appear to provide three levels of appeal: an informal hearing before an uninvolved authority, a hearing before the Hawaii Public Housing Authority, and appeal to state circuit court.
