Make the Department of Public Safety's existing reintegration program mandatory for soon-to-be-released incarcerated parents.

Enhance the program to include training on renewing contact with children and family members, preventing family conflict, and preparing for parental responsibilities.

Require the Department of Public Safety to inform incarcerated parents upon intake of their responsibility to contact courts regarding child support obligations and inform courts of their inability to pay due to incarceration.

Direct the Department of Public Safety to submit a report to the Legislature by twenty days before the 2011 Regular Session convening detailing actions taken pursuant to this measure.

Transmit certified copies to the Director of Public Safety, Director of Health, Director of Human Services, and other relevant state and county officials.
