HI HB1008

Adds Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers to the list of federal officers authorized to make arrests in Hawaii without a warrant for specific offenses.

Removes Citizenship and Immigration Services from the list of federal agencies with arrest authority under Hawaii law.

Retains arrest authority for United States Customs and Border Protection Service officers for assaults, crimes involving physical harm, public order offenses, felonies, and cases where a warrant exists when the officer is on duty.

Updates titles of certifying officials to include the special agent in charge of the Honolulu Division of FBI, the special agent in charge of the Honolulu/Guam/Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Division of ICE, and the port director of Honolulu area port of Customs and Border Protection Service.

Takes effect upon approval.
