Removes the Hawaii Criminal Justice Association from the panel that nominates members of the Hawaii paroling authority, as the association no longer exists.

The nomination panel now consists of: the chief justice of the Hawaii supreme court, the director, the president of the bar association of Hawaii, a representative designated by the head of the Interfaith Alliance Hawaii, a public member appointed by the governor, and the president of the Hawaii chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.

Panel nomination requirements apply only to initial appointments to the paroling authority, not to reappointments of sitting members or chairpersons whose initial appointment was made through panel nomination.

No additional funding is allocated to the department of public safety to implement this Act.

Effective upon approval.
