HI HB1200

Amends Hawaii's public information law to allow disclosure of names and salaries of undercover law enforcement officers after they cease undercover work for at least five years.

Adds definitions of "undercover capacity" (law enforcement activity requiring concealment of officer identity) and "undercover officer" (law enforcement employee working in undercover capacity).

Maintains protection for undercover officers' identities while actively engaged in undercover work by exempting them from the general public disclosure requirements for government employee information.

Takes effect upon approval.
