HI HB1219

Adds protection to Hawaii Revised Statutes preventing foreclosure proceedings against reserve component military members and state military forces members who are deployed outside the United States for at least 90 consecutive days with reduced mail capability.

Extends the period during which no court proceeding to enforce a lien or mortgage foreclosure may be commenced until one year after the protected military member returns to Hawaii.

Applies to liens entered against state residents who are reserve component members of any U.S. Armed Forces branch, and to mortgage loan defaults by state military forces members on real property they own.

Prohibits both judicial foreclosure proceedings and power of sale foreclosures under Hawaii's mortgage foreclosure statutes during the protected period.

Takes effect upon approval.
