Appropriates funds to Hawaii Livestock Cooperative as a grant pursuant to chapter 42F, Hawaii Revised Statutes, for fiscal year 2011-2012 to stabilize slaughterhouse operations on Oahu.

Authorized uses of grant funds include investments in modern equipment, expanding and improving livestock inventory, and developing new markets and products.

Hawaii Livestock Cooperative must prepare and submit a sustainable business plan to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the 2012 regular session, including planned fund uses, pro forma financial statements, and commitments from meat industry stakeholders.

Grant funds shall be expended by the Department of Agriculture for the stated purposes.

Act takes effect July 1, 2020.
