HI HB1303

Authorizes the Hawaii public housing authority to charge a community facilities maintenance fee of at least one percent of community facilities expenses for private functions in common areas.

Requires the authority to notify all tenants in writing at least thirty days prior to any increase in the community facilities maintenance fee.

Directs the authority to adopt administrative rules under chapter 91 governing the community facilities maintenance fee.

Amends tenant selection preferences to give first preference for housing to veterans with a permanent disability of ten percent or more as certified by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, their dependent parents, and deceased veterans' widows.

Effective date: July 1, 2050.
