Temporary restraining orders remain in effect for up to 90 days from the date granted or until a protective order becomes effective, whichever occurs first.

Protective orders stated orally by the court on the record become effective on the hearing date if the respondent attends, or upon service of the written order if the respondent was served but failed to appear.

Oral protective orders must be reduced to writing and issued immediately by the court.

The judiciary shall provide forms to enable courts to issue all temporary restraining orders immediately.
