Provides that any person entering state correctional or detention facility grounds is deemed to have given consent to a search for weapons or contraband, including searches of vehicles.

Requires signs to be posted at reasonable intervals along correctional facility boundaries informing the public of the restricted access and implied consent provisions.

Maintains existing restrictions on who may enter correctional facilities without permission from the administrator or director, with violation remaining a misdemeanor offense.

Defines "correctional facility" to include detention facilities for purposes of this statute.

Takes effect upon approval.
