HB 1583 - Hawaii Super Bowl Task Force

• Establishes the Hawaii Super Bowl task force within the department of business, economic development, and tourism to evaluate feasibility and develop a marketing plan for bringing the Super Bowl to Hawaii.

• Task force membership consists of 13 members: three Hawaii tourism authority board members appointed by the governor, three hotel/tourism industry representatives appointed by the House speaker, three appointed by the Senate president, two House members appointed by the speaker, and two Senate members appointed by the president.

• Task force must hold at least three meetings during ordinary business hours with no expense reimbursement for members, and must select a chairperson from among its members.

• Task force shall submit a final report with findings and recommendations to the legislature no later than 20 days before the 2012 regular session convenes.

• Task force ceases to exist on June 30, 2012; Act takes effect July 1, 2011.
