HI HB174

Increases the Employees' Retirement System (ERS) board of trustees from eight to ten members.

Adds one county representative appointed by unanimous agreement of the mayors of each of the four counties and approved by the Hawaii State Association of Counties, subject to senate confirmation.

Increases state employee representation on the board from four to five members, with three general employees, one teacher, and one retirant.

Counties are responsible for all expenses incurred by their appointed board member, including travel, board, lodging, and other costs.

Effective date is July 1, 2030.
