Department of Hawaiian Home Lands must contract an agricultural technician on a long-term contract of at least a specified number of years to support native Hawaiians in farming and stock raising.

Agricultural technician shall instruct and advise Hawaiian home land lessees on diversified farming, stock raising methods, and other practices to accomplish the purposes of the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act, 1920.

Agricultural technician shall prepare and distribute educational materials for Hawaiian home land lessees about standard procedures and practices for diversified farming and stock raising.

Agricultural technician shall collect samples from crops, soil, and animals for testing where resources allow, and prepare and record research findings and results from testing.

Bill takes effect on July 1, 2011.
