H.B. 526 Summary

• Requires the department of business, economic development, and tourism (DBEDT) and the high technology development corporation to plan for establishment of a high technology park or technology incubator facility on Oahu.

• Mandates DBEDT submit a preliminary report to the legislature no later than twenty days before the 2012 regular session convenes, and a final report with findings and recommendations no later than twenty days before the 2013 regular session convenes.

• Appropriates unspecified general revenue funds for fiscal years 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 to cover planning, design, equipment, and construction costs for the technology park or incubator facility infrastructure on Oahu.

• Designates the high technology development corporation to manage and oversee park operations in cooperation with government agencies and private entities.

• Effective date is July 1, 2050.
