Requires sellers of products or services with automatic renewal clauses in consumer contracts lasting more than one month to clearly and conspicuously disclose the automatic renewal terms and cancellation procedures in the contract.

Mandates additional notice for contracts with specified terms of twelve months or more, requiring notification 30-60 days before renewal that includes how to cancel and the deadline to prevent automatic renewal.

Permits electronic delivery of required notices if the original transaction was conducted electronically or the consumer elects to receive electronic communications with a valid email address.

Classifies knowing violations or failure to cancel upon consumer request as unfair or deceptive business practices under Hawaii's consumer protection laws.

Exempts financial institutions regulated under chapter 412 and insurers regulated under chapters 431, 432, or 432D from these requirements; takes effect July 1, 2012.
