Amends Act 51, Session Laws of Hawaii 2004, Section 49 to modify the single school calendar requirement for Hawaii public schools.

Maintains the requirement that the board of education adopt a single school calendar for all public schools beginning with the 2006-2007 school year.

Expands existing exemptions from the single calendar requirement to include schools designated by the board of education that are implementing plans to improve educational outcomes in students.

Existing exemptions for multi-track schools, new century charter schools, and new century conversion charter schools remain in effect.
