• Requests the Legislative Reference Bureau to conduct a study identifying State of Hawai'i laws that may need amendment to facilitate the Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act process.

• Study scope includes laws needed to facilitate steps leading to federal recognition of a Native Hawaiian governing entity and the recognition itself.

• Legislative Reference Bureau must identify laws needing amendment, explain why amendments are needed, and propose amendment language for the study report.

• Report must be submitted no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the 2012 Regular Session of the Legislature.

• Legislative Reference Bureau is requested to consult closely with the Office of Hawaiian Affairs and receive full cooperation from all government agencies during the study.
