Urges Congress and the Department of State to host more international trade conferences and summits in Hawaii.

Notes that Hawaii is geographically positioned as a gateway between the world's largest economy and fastest-growing economies in the Asia-Pacific region, presenting opportunities for economic expansion in tourism and technology.

Highlights that Hawaii will host the 2011 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit at the Hawaii State Convention Center with President Obama and 18 other heads of state, plus over 10,000 participants.

Requests the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism to submit a status report to the Legislature by 20 days prior to the 2012 Regular Session detailing accomplishments, challenges, and entities contacted in promoting Hawaii as a conference location.

Directs certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Speaker of the House, Senate Majority Leader, Secretary of State, and Hawaii's congressional delegation.
