Request the Department of Education to consider using property on Young Street adjacent to the Honolulu Academy of Arts' Academy Art Center as an art resource center for teachers.

Direct the Department of Education to establish a working group to explore relocating the Office of School Facilities and Support Services and repurposing the space as an art resource center.

Require the working group to include the Superintendent of Education (as chair), a representative from the Honolulu Academy of Arts, elected state officials from the area, a Hawaii State Teachers Association representative, and other community members deemed appropriate.

Acknowledge that arts is a required core education discipline and that the Department of Education lacks a central facility for teacher professional training and development in the arts.

Transmit certified copies of the resolution to the Superintendent of Education, Honolulu Academy of Arts Board Chair, state legislative leadership, and Hawaii State Teachers Association Executive Director.
