Request the Department of Land and Natural Resources to reevaluate and update the state water projects plan (last updated in 2003) and the North Kona water master plan (prepared in 1995).

Direct focus on determining current source, storage, and transmission requirements for projected potable water demand for state projects in North Kona, including the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii, Kona International Airport, and Hawaii Community College at Palamanui.

Require the Department of Land and Natural Resources to submit a report with findings, recommendations, and estimated costs to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2012 Regular Session convening.

Distribute certified copies of the resolution to the Governor, Board of Land and Natural Resources, Hawaiian Homes Commission, County of Hawaii Department of Water Supply, Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii, and Hawaii Community College at Palamanui.
