Requests the Auditor to perform a sunrise analysis of proposed regulation for the music therapy profession under Hawaii Revised Statutes section 26H-6.

Auditor must consult with the American Music Therapy Association, Certification Board for Music Therapists, credentialed music therapists in Hawaii, and Sounding Joy Music Therapy, Inc. when conducting the analysis.

Auditor must assess the probable effects of the proposed regulation and whether it aligns with policies in HRS section 26H-2 and identify alternative forms of regulation.

Music therapy is defined as clinical, evidence-based use of music interventions by credentialed professionals with approved training and national board certification.

Auditor must transmit findings to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the convening of the Regular Session of 2012.
