• Urges the President of the United States to sign and the United States Senate to ratify the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

• Notes that the UN General Assembly adopted the Convention on December 13, 2006, and it took effect on May 3, 2008

• Acknowledges that although the United States is a signatory to the Convention, it has not yet undertaken the legal rights and obligations contained within it

• Directs certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the President, Secretary of State, Hawaii's congressional delegation, the UN Secretary-General, and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights
