Cites a 1990s case where Kona Kai Farms illegally labeled Central American coffee as Kona coffee as an example of exploitation that trademark enforcement would prevent.

Notes that the high market value and reputation of authentic Kona coffee has made it a target for fraudulent labeling and sale of inferior products under the Kona name.

Directs that a certified copy of the resolution be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Agriculture.
