Request the School of Travel Industry Management at University of Hawaii at Manoa to develop enhancements for tourism-related capabilities of the University of Hawaii Economic Research Organization Data Portal.

Enhancements shall include visitor origin data by major markets, additional analytical capabilities, graphical display options, state and county-level visitor trend data, micro-level trends, and visitor attendance data at major attractions and National Park sites.

School of Travel Industry Management to develop an online tutorial and provide regular in-person training seminars to visitor industry professionals on using the Data Portal for decision-making.

University of Hawaii Economic Research Organization, Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism, and Hawaii Tourism Authority to examine ways to consolidate tourism data portals to prevent service duplication, eliminate wasteful spending, and ensure cost-efficient data storage and monitoring.

Both the School of Travel Industry Management and the consolidation working group must submit reports to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the 2012 Regular Session convening.
