Requests the Hawaii Tourism Authority to convene a task force to study opportunities to promote and expand heritage tourism in Hawaii.

Task force shall include the Director of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism, State Historic Preservation Division representative, State Foundation on Culture and the Arts representative, and Office of Hawaiian Affairs Board Chairperson.

Task force shall invite representatives from 18 specified cultural and historic organizations including Bishop Museum, Iolani Palace, Pacific Aviation Museum, Pearl Harbor Memorial Association, and others focused on heritage tourism.

President and Chief Executive Officer of the Hawaii Tourism Authority shall serve as Chairperson of the task force.

Hawaii Tourism Authority must submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the 2012 Regular Session.
