Request the University of Hawaii Board of Regents to study whether reintegrating the Office of the Chancellor of UH-Manoa with the Office of the President of the UH System is prudent.

Note that the Office of the Chancellor of UH-Manoa was established in 2001 with the expectation of incurring no additional administrative costs to the University.

Identify that the Chancellor's office now requires an annual operational budget of $14.7 million with over $6.4 million in additional administrative costs since its establishment.

Require the Board of Regents to report findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than 20 days prior to the convening of the 2012 Regular Session.

Transmit certified copies of the resolution to the Chair of the UH Board of Regents, the Chancellor of UH-Manoa, and the President of the UH System.
